SMWS 5.42 - "Bathed in a baker's shop"

13 years old, distilled 11th October 2000, 59.5% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 274 bottles

The nose is very light and sweet - lemon zest, green apples, artificial floral scents (like freshly laundered linen). The body has a very thin and light mouth-feel, with a little alcohol burn. There's vanilla, pears, green apples and a touch of cinnamon, and the finish is sweet vanilla and cinnamon - also longer than I expected.

Water brings tight thin whorling, which lasts for a long time. The nose now has less lemon zest, and more green apples. There's also a touch of Refreshers sweets. The body is now fuller - the same fruits but bigger, and the cinnamon moves to the (much shorter) finish.

A superb light dram, which takes water well and would be a decent dram for a hot summer's day.
