SMWS 7.108 - "Exotic fruit and spices"

Ever have a whisky that's good, but you're struggling to find something to say about? Why are you looking at me that way? I haven't had one either. It was a hypothetical question. Honest.

10 years old, distilled 22nd September 2003, 61.2% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 207 bottles

The nose is initially a little woody, but that rapidly burns off into leather and heather with an underlying note of unpolished oak. The body is aggressive, with pepper and vanilla, melon and kiwi fruit. The mouth-feel is thin and has a certain aggression from the high alcohol level. The finish is toffee and kiwi fruit.

Water provides good whorling - it spreads nicely into wonderful patterns. The nose has leather and chewing gum, and the body gains sherbet. The finish gains bubblegum notes.
