The nose has vanilla, toffee and a hint of summer meadow in flower. The mouth-feel is clean and light. The body has toffee, leather, pears, - a very sweet and smooth whisky. The finish is long and sweet - vanilla and a hint of crisp smoke, almost incense like.
Water brings out thin, tight whorling that barely spreads. The nose is now more floral - buttercups, daisies and a hint of lavender. The body is warmer - ginger, vanilla and subtle perfumed notes I can't quite pin down. The finish has lost the suggestion of smoke, and gained lavender notes with the vanilla still prevalent.
A superb touchline dram for all your rugby watching needs.
