14 years old, distilled 17th December 2001, 55.7% abv, Second-Fill Ex-Port Barrique, 252 bottles

The nose has oranges, plums, damsons, hazelnuts and a hint of burnt caramel. The mouthfeel is thin and smooth, with little cling. The body has more of the oranges and plums, and adds pineapple and pears. The finish is short - pears and a little hazelnut.

Water brings out short-lived whorling that didn't mottle. The nose now gains a little ginger and a lot of pear. The damsons are now absent. The body also gains ginger, and loses the oranges and plums. The pears are more prominent, and there's a hint of cinnamon towards finish, which has also gained cinnamon.

A great dram for late summer evenings, catching an early sunset.
