17 years old, 26th September 1997, 57.5% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 239 bottles

The nose has lemon, hay, and an undertone of lavender. The mouthfeel is thin and a little coating. The body has lavender, lemon fizz, and lots of vanilla. The finish has lemon and golden syrup.

Water brings out thick, long-lasting whorling that lingers amazingly. The nose has gained some herbal notes (fennel, sage) and lost the lemon. The body gains cinnamon, and is a little less lemony. The finish is unchanged.

A superb dram that would be good after a long stroll on an autumnal day.
