15 years old, distilled 2nd December 1999, 57.6% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 269 bottles

The nose has apricot, peaches and melon - all starting off quietly, but growing in intensity very nicely. They sit over a nice caramel note, and a slight hint of lemon. The mouthfeel is thin, with no cling, but very smooth. The body has all the fruit of the nose, and soft toffee and caramel sweets. The finish is short, with apricot and lemons.

Water brings out thick, lasting whorling that expands very satisfyingly. The nose has a little more lemon, but less caramel - the original fruit notes persist, much to my delight. The body has more caramel, but a little less fruit. The finish is unchanged.

A very nice dram, which balances everything very well and I'm sure I'll return to it many times. Suitable for dessert, and ideal with ice-cream. Excuse me, I have to go and check my freezer...
