20 years old, distilled 26th May 2003, 54.7% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon, HTMC Oloroso (ex-Islay) Hogsheads, 924 bottles, dram price H

The nose has malt vinegar, old oak furniture, thick-cut chips, and hints of lemon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, ready salted crisps, sunflower oil, chip fat and hints of toffee. The finish has lemon, salted thick-cut chips, and toffee.

Water brings out thick whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains more salt and lemon, and loses the old oak furniture. The body gains more lemon and toffee. The finish gains more lemon and a little more salt.

A decent light sweet Orkney with plenty of coastal notes, and a very appropriate name.

One for spring mornings.
