The nose has desiccated coconut, pear and hints of lemon - a little closed. The mouthfeel is decent with a little cling. The body has lemon, pear, green apples, coconut and hints of sage. The finish has lemon, green apples, sage and a touch of fresh oak.
Water brings out thin¸ rapidly expanding whorling that quickly settles into decent mottling. The nose gains fruits - now reminiscent of a fruit salad chew sweet. The body gains the same chew sweet effect and some more lemon, and a hint of fresh oak. The finish gains more lemon and loses the sage.
A pleasing light and sweet dram, slightly heavy on the lemon - but for many, that will be just fine.
One for summer mornings.
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
