The nose has fennel, a little lime, and crisp smoke - from a dry bonfire. The mouthfeel is thin with a little cling. The body has more fennel, some thyme, lemon and more crisp smoke - very little earth. The finish has sweet citrus notes and more of that crisp bonfire smoke.
Water brings out thick whorling that's short lived. The nose has more fennel and smoke, less lime. The body has gained more herb notes, but lost the citrus. The finish is unchanged.
A decent dram, albeit somewhat lightly peated for my taste. Very suitable for a barbecue.
