SMWS 73.64 - "Anytime can be Xmas"

24 years old, distilled 31st May 1989, 58.4% abv, refill ex-sherry butt, 532 bottles

Oranges, sultanas, cinnamon, glacê cherries and a hint of dark chocolate on the nose. The body is sharp, with more big fat Seville oranges and cardamom spice, on top of a base of toffee. The mouth-feel is drying, but full. The finish is sweet and dry - dessicated orange and a hint of dark chocolate.

Water produces big and satisfying whorling. The nose now has less cinnamon, more oranges. The body has a little less cardamom and more cinnamon. The finish now has the cinnamon as well as the oranges, but has lost the dark chocolate note.

An excellent example of sherried whisky. To be had with your fruitcake...
