13 years old, distilled 10th May 2004, 57.8% abv, First Fill Ex-Oloroso Hogshead, 265 bottles, dram price B
The nose has mulled wine and hints of chocolate. The mouthfeel is decent with no cling. The body has mulled wine, peanut brittle, pears, dark chocolate and cinnamon towards the finish. The finish is cinnamon and red wine.
Water brings out thin, compact whorling that almost mottles. The nose gains peanut brittle and pears. The body gains more pears and loses the dark chocolate. The finish gains pears.
A winter warmer for the Islay loather.
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
