The nose has lilies, roses and tulips, then hints of lemon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon bon bons and ginger. The finish has ginger and a hint of oak shavings. A palate which didn't quite match the complexity of the nose.
Water brings out thin, rapidly spreading whorling that settles quickly into very brief mottling. The nose gains lemon sponge cake, and loses most of the floral notes. The body gains more lemon - lemonade - and the ginger is replaced by lots of vanilla and cinnamon. The ginger returns in the finish, alongside cinnamon and lemon.
A reasonable dram for autumnal afternoons and hiking hipflasks.
Technical score: 3.5/5
Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
