9 years old, distilled 29th August 2008, 62.0% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 234 bottles, dram price B
The nose has blood oranges, brandy and a hint of lime. The mouthfeel is thin with little cling. The body has more of the blood oranges, then lime juice, lemon travel sweets and a hit of cinnamon that continues into the finish. The finish also has lime and blood oranges.
Water brings out tight, thin whorling that spreads quickly and settles into brief mottling. The nose loses the blood orange and brandy and gains lemon sherbet and more lime. The body still has some blood oranges, but they're diminished. It gains hints of rosewater and more lemon. The finish gains lemon.
An intriguing dram - one for a summer's afternoon watching others exerting themselves.
