4.205 - "A riddle wrapped in a mystery"

14 years old, distilled 2nd June 2000, 62.1% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 213 bottles

DSC_0185The nose is light, sweet and dusty - lemon, old tea chests and old libraries. The mouthfeel is thin but a little coating. The body has more lemon, some tea notes (lots of tannin), cardamom and a hint of white pepper. The finish is long and sweet, with lemon and cinnamon.

Water brings out very compact whorling that is very short lived. The nose has more of the old books note. The body gains toffee and more white pepper, with less lemon. The finish is unchanged.

A good dram for a shoreline snifter.
