11 years old, distilled 7th September 2004, 60.6% abv, first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, 174 bottles
The nose has toffee, sponge cake and hints of sultanas and raisins. The mouthfeel is decent, with a little cling. The body has cinnamon, vanilla, banana, and hints of peanut brittle. The finish is peanut brittle, vanilla and cinnamon.
Water brings out tight, thin whorling that expands rapidly then vanishes. The nose now loses the sponge cake, but gains cinnamon and a little hint of apricot. The finish gains more cinnamon.
A lovely dram, for a spring afternoon.
