The nose has an instant hit of the Madeira cask. After that fades, there's toffee, brandy, and baked apples. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has burnt toffee, oranges and crystallised ginger appears towards the finish. The finish is ginger and toffee.
Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose doesn't do much - a little more cinnamon, a little less brandy. The body has a similar experience, gaining more of the ginger and cinnamon. The finish gains a little brandy, more ginger and some cinnamon.
It may not be complex, but it is tasty. One for firesides and friends.
