4.203 - "Romantic tales, songs, and whispers"

15 years old, distilled 15th October 1999, 55.8% abv, first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, 202 bottles

The nose has citrus, pencil shavings and tea chests. The mouth-feel is smooth, with a coating of the tongue. The body has cinnamon, citrus zest, brine, and a touch of tobacco. The finish is sweet tobacco and lime zest.

Water brings tight whorling that expands nicely and settles for longer than I'd expected. The nose now has less wood notes, more brine and mint leaves. The body has lost the cinnamon and gained liquorice, as has the finish.

A good dram for a spring day.
