11 years old, distilled 9th October 2002, 54.6% abv, refill ex-bourbon barrel, 101 bottles

The nose has sweet vanilla, rosewater and hints of smokey bacon crisps. The mouth-feel is sharp and slightly lingering. The body has vanilla, liquorice, smoked bacon, and a slightly herbal note. The finish is long, with vanilla, soft smoke, liquorice and a touch of pepper.

Water brings loose expanded whorling which lingers pleasingly. The nose now has more bacon, rosemary and fennel. The body gains some black pepper towards the back of the mouth, and the finish is a little longer and sweeter - with a bit more liquorice and smoke.

A good dram for a barbecue.
