85.31 - "A toy shop in an orange grove"

15 years old, distilled 6th October 1999, 56.1% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 311 bottles

DSC_0226The nose has soft toffee, orange fruit gums and a hint of wood polish. The mouthfeel is soft and has a little cling. The body has more toffee, orange peel, pineapple and peaches. The finish is sweet, peach and a little vanilla.

Water brings out very short-lived whorling that barely expands before dissipating into mottling at the bottom of the glass. The nose now has a little lemon and some orange peel. The body has lemon cheesecake and dark chocolate salted caramels. The finish is less peach and more toffee and oranges with a hint of lemon. Still quite short though.

A very fine dram to accompany a warm day, sitting in the shade of a tree and watching the breeze go by.
