Water brings out tight, thin and compact whorling that dissipates quickly without mottling. The nose gains butterscotch, orange peel, brown sugar and loses the calvados. The body gains brown sugar, cinnamon, orange peel, cinnamon and ginger and loses the calvados. The finish gains ginger and cinnamon.
A belter of a dram, where the finishing has really worked. Bound to cause conversation.

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
