The nose has peach, apricot, honey and a hint of oak. The mouthfeel is decent, with a little cling. The body has oak shavings, soft leather, lemon, caramel and hints of liquorice. The finish is oak shavings and hints of liquorice.

Water brings out compact, thick mottling that expands and lingers but never quite mottles. The nose gains oak shavings, and loses some of the apricot and peach - but they're still preset. The body gains butterscotch and honey, and loses the liquorice hints. The finish gains more oak shavings and a little more soft leather.

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
