The nose has oak, leather, raisins and sultanas. The mouthfeel is thin but smooth, with no cling. The body has sweet tobacco, raisins, and hints of cinnamon. The finish is old leather, raisins and a hint of oak.

Water brings out thick, short-lived whorling that doesn't mottle. The nose now loses the leather, and gains toffee. The body has more raisin and less tobacco. The finish loses the leather​.

A superb dram for any season, magnificently balanced.
