The nose has honeycomb, apple, pear, crumble, mango and a hint of oranges. The mouthfeel is decent with no cling, and very smooth. The body continues the fruits - mango, kiwi fruit, rhubarb and hints of floral notes and caramel. The finish is honeycomb and mango.
Water brings out thick whorling that settles quickly into lingering mottling. The nose now gains a faint floral note - honeysuckle? And yet more fruits. It's an exotic fruit salad - with some mint leaves thrown in. The body has also gained more fruit, yet is quieter. The finish loses the honeycomb and gains a little watermelon and green apples.
A wonderful whisky that just didn't go in the direction I'd hoped for with water - yet is still superb in many ways.
