41.125 - Jammed with jaffa

12 years old, distilled 17th February 2007, 59.6% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 180 bottles, dram price B

41.125 - Jammed with jaffaThe nose has satsumas and lavender, with hints of rosewater. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, satsumas, apricots and fresh oak. The finish has lemon, fresh oak and apricot.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains apricot and loses the lavender. The body gains more lemon and some strawberry, and loses the satsumas. The finish gains strawberries.

A fruity delight.

One for summer afternoons.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
