8 years old, distilled 20th April 2011, 65.3% abv, Second Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 231 bottles, dram price A
Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains more oak and some lemon. The body gains orange chew sweets and more lemon, with oak more pronounced towards the end. The finish gains new oak furniture and more lemon.
A decent, fresh young dram.
One for spring mornings.
Technical score: 3.5/5
Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
